📚 Books and Reading
- This month, I have two recommendations: Prisoners of Geography by Tim Marshall and Leadership in War by Andrew Roberts.
- Prisoners of Geography examines how geography influences geopolitics and state development. Tim Marshall provides examples from around the world, illustrating how geographic factors continue to shape political and economic outcomes, despite advancements in technology. This book offers a straightforward analysis of the relationship between geography and geopolitics.
The book is available on Amazon.
- Leadership in War provides an overview of nine significant leaders in modern history, including Napoleon Bonaparte, Winston Churchill, and Margaret Thatcher. Andrew Roberts explores their approaches to leadership and the decisions that defined their roles in major historical events, from the French Revolution to the Cold War.
The book is available on Amazon.
💡 Thoughts
- I recently read an article by Bas Dijkstra expressing frustration with the overuse and superficial applications of AI across domains like software testing. He points out how many AI tools, marketed as “game changers,” often fail to deliver substantial results. He also critiques the trend of AI-generated content, noting that it often lacks the unique insights and personal touch of human authorship. I don’t believe AI is just another trend like Blockchain—I think it will continue evolving and adding value across industries. What are your thoughts?
