We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (.NET) to build MVP of a cloud-based monitoring portal

Project Idea

Project is building a modern monitoring portal for customers who use IoT sensors across multiple locations.

The platform provides customers with a single web portal where they can monitor live sensor readings, access historical data, analyze trends, and track device status across all of their sites.

The solution is built on a hybrid architecture that combines Microsoft Azure cloud services with dedicated on-premise servers installed at customer locations.

How many stages of the interview are there?

Interview with the Recruiter – up to 30 min.
Technical interview – 1 h.

Contract details

Expected workload: 50% allocation (part-time).
Following a successful MVP phase, there may be an opportunity to continue working with the project or explore other opportunities within Ralabs.

Requirements and responsibilities

Must have:

5+ years of commercial development experience in .NET / C#
Hands-on experience with Blazor (WASM)
Experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Azure Storage, EventHub, CosmosDB, deployment, basic understanding of multi-tenant vs. single-tenant models)
Experience integrating with IoT devices/sensors, or experience building data pipelines for streaming data
Understanding of REST APIs, working with external/internal data contracts
Experience with non-relational databases (CosmosDB)
Hands-on experience with the AI-assisted development lifecycle (ADLC), including using AI coding tools and agents for implementation, testing and code review, while keeping responsibility for the quality, security and maintainability of the delivered code
English — sufficient for reading documentation, communicating within the team and conducting demo meetings
Upper-Intermediate (B2) level of English (sufficient for reading documentation, communicating within the team and conducting demo meetings)

Nice to Have

Experience with data visualisation/charting libraries
Knowledge of CI/CD principles and deployment automation (GitHub Actions)
Experience working on regulated/tender-driven projects (documentation, strict scope control)
Basic understanding of IoT protocols (MQTT, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

Development and maintenance of the customer web portal in Blazor (dashboard, building/gallery/room/case hierarchy, live readings, device status, reporting)
Implementation of backend logic in .NET (API, processing of IoT device data, authentication/authorisation, role-based access)
IoT layer integration: ingesting sensor data via the gateway/edge layer, processing and storing it in the data pipeline
Working with Azure: deploying hybrid multi-tenant environment for customers (dedicated app storage and database, shared API, disaster recovery)
Supporting the hybrid model — synchronising data between the cloud (Azure, UK-hosted) and a dedicated on-prem server at each customer site
Implementing data visualisation: historical charts, multi-sensor overlays, zoom in/out with cursor values, custom colours and target bands
Contributing to automated deployment setup (to avoid manual/non-standard deployments per customer)
Participating in QA, security review, and performance testing during the final phases
Close collaboration with the architect: implementing architectural decisions and providing feedback on technical feasibility
