We are looking for a Senior Python+React Engineer to join one of our projects in the finance industry.
About the Project

We’re building a modern workflow and client-facing platform used to support tax credit, consulting, project management, and operational delivery workflows. The platform brings together internal production teams, sales and account data, client and CPA partner visibility, workflow automation, integrations, and AI-enabled product capabilities.

This is a senior individual contributor role. The ideal candidate is not just a heads-down coder waiting for perfectly defined tickets. We need someone who can work from product direction, PRDs, design concepts, and business context, then help shape and build practical features.

Role Focus

The ideal skill distribution for this role is approximately:

  • 40% Backend development (Python, FastAPI)
  • 40% Frontend development (React)
  • 10% Product thinking and understanding business requirements
  • 5% Cloud and integrations
  • 5% Experience using AI tools in development

The main priority is finding a well-rounded full-stack engineer who is comfortable working across both the frontend and backend. Experience with cloud technologies, integrations, and AI-assisted development is a nice plus, but not the primary focus.

Hiring Process

Requirements and responsibilities

Hard skills
  • 7+ years of professional development experience.
  • Strong full-stack engineering experience (backend + frontend).
  • Experience building scalable backend services and clean REST APIs.
  • Experience with Python (preferably FastAPI) and relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar).
  • Strong React/Next.js and TypeScript development experience.
  • Solid database design skills (data modeling, SQL, migrations, performance optimization).
  • Ability to build production-ready, maintainable UI components from product or design requirements.
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs and external systems (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite).
  • Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and application security best practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
  • Ability to troubleshoot performance issues and design reliable systems with retries, error handling, and failure recovery
  • Strong code quality, debugging, and software engineering fundamentals
  • Proven ability to build scalable, performant, and secure backend applications.
  • Upper-Intermediate English level or higher.
Responsibilities
  • Build full-stack features and modules.
  • Own backend and frontend implementation for assigned work.
  • Design data models, APIs, and workflow logic.
  • Implement user-facing application screens from product and design direction.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering leadership on implementation approach.
  • Help translate PRDs and business context into working software.
  • Identify technical risks, edge cases, and architectural tradeoffs.
  • Build integrations and workflow automation where needed.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to improve speed and quality.
  • Review and test their own work before handoff.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers when appropriate.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and design decisions clearly.
