Personal stories of engineers

Serhii

Team Lead
Based in Ukraine

I joined Ralabs in 2019 as a Middle Software Engineer, eager to grow and make a meaningful impact. From those early days, I immersed myself in complex projects, building my expertise

in Ruby on Rails, API integrations, and high-stakes performance optimization.

Over the years, Ralabs has been the perfect environment for me to expand my skills, and each new challenge pushed me further. Today, I’m proud to lead a talented team, where I bring both technical insight and a strong focus on quality. The journey from middle developer to team lead has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited to continue driving impactful projects alongside my team at Ralabs.

Kateryna

Senior Software Engineer
Based in Poland

I jumped into Ralabs in 2022 and the pace hasn’t slowed down since. With extensive experience in developing startups, I knew I wanted to work on projects that are challenging and dynamic.

I love the challenge of solving complex problems, the space for creativity, imaginative people, and-most importantly-having a real say in product, decisions, and outcome. When I first started, there were just a couple of developers, and now, we’ve grown into a much larger team, with a great expansion in the number of sub-projects. That growth told me we were on the right track. I feel heard, my ideas are valued, and I’m really involved with the work that I do. Over these years, we did a couple of major releases, including projects which I personally built from scratch.

This is not a place for shortcuts; everything is done with precision and care. And as for my own growth, I see how far I’ve come, and I’m confident about where I’m going.

Mykola

Senior DevOps Engineer
Based in Portugal

I joined Ralabs as a DevOps engineer in the autumn of 2021, having taken on a critical migration project from an old UK hosting provider to AWS. This experience presented

numerous challenges that greatly enhanced my skills.

It taught me how to deliver efficient, scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective solutions. Since then, I have done several projects: designed new cloud infrastructures from scratch, improved the existing systems, solved problems of performance and security. I never felt stressed at Ralabs despite having multiple projects and a ton of tasks. The friendly and trusting atmosphere allows for a good work-life balance and knowledge sharing, and it inspires personal growth-my greatest values.

Currently, I actively participate in client discovery sessions, assist with project estimations, provide consulting to developers and clients on best practices, and soon hope to have the opportunity to lead a team of my own. I feel very grateful for this opportunity to work with such a talented team and am excited about the challenges ahead.

Anna

Senior Software Engineer
Based in Jordan

I joined Ralabs in December 2021 as a Front-End Engineer. After 1.5 years, I transitioned into a Full-Stack Engineer role, working on a range of projects across different industries.

Throughout my journey, Ralabs has been instrumental in my professional growth, offering invaluable guidance and mentorship that eased my shift into a full-stack position. I appreciate the supportive and dynamic work environment here, which has allowed me to expand my skill set and gain exposure to new challenges. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue growing and contributing to innovative projects within the company.
