Dedicated team behind the project

The client

Cludo, a leading innovator in the search technology space, was founded in 2015 with a clear mission: to revolutionize website search. Their intelligent search solutions empower businesses to optimize their search functionalities, guiding visitors to the information they need swiftly and efficiently.

The challenge

Cludo’s innovative search product faced a challenge: achieving full compliance with W3C AA, a globally recognized standard for
digital accessibility.

The project was restricted to a tight deadline of only 32 hours. This meant that our accessibility testing specialists needed to develop a highly efficient approach to achieve optimal results within
the given timeframe.

What was done

To ensure flawless accessibility for Cludo’s search product, our Accessibility specialists meticulously reviewed their Assistant modal window against 50 WCAG 2.1 AA criteria. This rigorous evaluation identified areas for improvement to meet accessibility standards and enhance the user experience (UI/UX) for users with disabilities.

Implemented features:

01

Missing button labels hampered screen reader functionality (WCAG 1.1.1).

02

Inconsistent heading levels disrupted information flow for assistive technology users (WCAG 1.3.1 & 2.4.6).

03

Poor color contrast made it difficult to distinguish text and UI elements for users with visual impairments (WCAG 1.4.3 & 1.4.11).

04

Absent focus indicators hindered keyboard navigation and element identification (WCAG 2.4.7).

05

Unclear form field labels and instructions created confusion for users with cognitive and learning disabilities (WCAG 3.3.2).

Additional features

Incorporating descriptive text for buttons.

Restructuring headings to maintain a logical hierarchy.

Enhancing color contrast to meet WCAG recommendations.

Implementing visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation. Providing clear labels and concise instructions for form fields.
